Knowing The Father’s Heart

July 2, 2009

According to Freeda Bowers, we get exactly what we ask for in prayer only if we are praying the will of the Father. How do we pray then? The Holy Spirit therefore is the only one who can direct us to the Father’s heart. If we are close and sensitive to the Spirit, we will then know how to pray. Seek the Father’s heart and not temporary relieve from your situation or circumstances.

For example, if you are sick and tired of your job and have been asking God for a new job, perhaps the Father’s heart is more concern with the root of the problem or issue. Some potential roots could be:

1. Dissatisfaction

2. Discontentment

3. Ungodly view on money

4. Ungodly view on time

5. Correcting a character issue, e.g. selfishness

Is God Present In Non-believers?

June 12, 2009

First and foremost, I want to make my stand clear in that I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. However, being a born again Christian I do encounter many questions which I can’t find the answers to. I believe this is part and parcel of growing up as a Christian. Regardless of the questions that I may have, my life is secured in Christ Jesus.

One of the question that I recently have was about God’s omnipresence. I believe that He is omnipresent.

However, 1 Cor 2:12 says:
“We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

The above verse tells me that the Holy Spirit is given to us when we become Christians. Which then implies, the Holy Spirit is not with non-believers. If He is not with non-believers, then is God omnipresent?

The best explanation I can come up with that He is present with non-believers. It is just that they have not accepted Him and therefore are not sensitive to Him. The reason I say this is because the work of the Holy Spirit is redemptive in nature. Which means He is always working to redeem sinners, especially the non-believers.

As an aside, I came across an interesting article which said that God is not in space, but rather space is in God. This is in reference to God being larger than his creation, which includes spaces like the universe, the earth, etc. I find myself agreeing to the statement.
